"We have been cooking for the masses for 20 years using charcoal grills, and the direct heating method for bar-b-q'n. We purchased one of your 250 Super Deluxe Model wood and gas fired cookers. We took delivery March of 2000. We have since smoked pork loins, Boston butts, beef top rounds, whole and half chickens, hams, whole pigs, sausage, spare ribs and turkeys for several different outings. Also installed on the front tongue are 2 large gas burners, we have prepared deep fried turkeys, low country boil and a variety of steamed veggies. Let me take this opportunity to tell you how much I have enjoyed my Davis Smoker/Grill. My first cooking consisted of 12 boston butts. I smoked this meat at 275 degrees and it all cooked evenly and thoroughly. Someone commented that they looked like a picture out of Southern Living. I had to admit, they were golden brown. I used gas for heat and green hickory for flavor. Each of my guests seemed to more than satisfied. I also cooked 22 one inch and a quarter ribeyes with the grill pans. Seven minutes on each side, a perfect medium rare!

Don just wanted to drop you a line letting you know the Deluxe 500 cooker is the best cooker I have ever worked with. We cook 1800lbs of boston pork butt every week on it. As well as brisket, chicken,ribs and sausage.Thank you Don for a wonderful cooker. Hope you are working on a design for a bigger cooker then the 500 model. I will be lined up to purchuse one.
